This is my governor, Rick That Douchebag Perry:

That's right, self identifying ladies and all others with a uterus: Rick Perry wants to get all up in your uterus. And not in the good way.
But unlike Rick Perry and all of the anti choicers in the pink dome, you and I know a few things (let's call them facts) that he doesn't.
If you listen to Rick Perry and his friends, they make it sound like all of the people having these abortions are irresponsible single sex havers (not that there is anything wrong with being a single sex haver). But this doesn't tell the whole story.
58% of women having abortions are in their 20s; 61% have one or more children; 85% are unmarried; 69% are economically disadvantaged; and 73% report a religious affiliation. No racial or ethnic group makes up a majority: 36% of women obtaining abortions are white non-Hispanic, 30% are black non-Hispanic, 25% are Hispanic and 9% are of other racial backgrounds.
But these statistics are only a tiny bit of the point, because an abortion is a private decision that every person has the right to make no matter who they are, how they got pregnant, how many kids they do or do not have, whether they believe in God or the flying spaghetti monster on the dark side of the moon.
In Texas, the majority in the state government is fighting hard to make sure that abortion is harder to access. The longer a person has to wait to have an abortion, the more expensive the procedure becomes.
But here is where we come in! You and me, my lovely pro choice friend, who believes that people have the right to have safe, legal, accessible abortions.
