The Bowl-a-Thon culminates on April 30th, so start winding up that strike arm!
Compete on your own or in teams of virtual super-strikers -- spice up your page with photos, art, and links to your Facebook page, and you're on your way.
And although we won’t be able to virtually meet to bowl together, we will be able to fundraise together through this site to support the invaluable work of abortion funds across the country.
*Over 2,000 women a year make their way to Mississippi's last abortion clinic. And while the clinic remains open for now, its future is uncertain.
Where can those women turn? In a state with the highest poverty rate and the second highest teen pregnancy rate in the nation, how do they get the care they need?
Working in partnership with our national case manager, abortion clinics, and activists on the ground, we do everything we can to make sure that women who live in states that lack an abortion fund can still get care. States like Mississippi.
So we're excited to announce that we have created the new Mississippi Abortion Fund to assist women and girls faced with the impossible expenses and complicated logistics of traveling to the state's sole clinic or leaving the state for Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama or Tennessee: bus fare, gas costs, childcare, an overnight hotel stay or two to comply with a neighboring state's mandatory waiting period, lost wages from time away from work...each additional barrier places abortion care further out of reach.
We will not stand by and allow women and girls to fall through the cracks. For twenty years, the National Network of Abortion Funds has responded in times of crisis, whether by establishing an emergency fund to help women displaced by Hurricane Katrina or creating the George Tiller Memorial Abortion Fund to assist women forced to travel great distances for a later abortion.
We've done it before and we'll do it again: with your help, we will make sure every woman has a place to turn.
Thanks to you we surpassed our goal and raised over $8,000 for the NEW Mississippi Abortion Fund!

The National Network of Abortion Funds is using the opportunity of this year's Virtual Bowl-a-Thon to launch the Mississippi Abortion Fund, which will assist with travel costs and logistics for women and girls going to the only clinic in Mississippi or who are forced to travel to Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana or Tennessee to get an abortion.
All money raised in the Virtual Bowl-a-Thon will go this new fund!
